Teoretik Petr Ingerle společnou produkci F. Cenka a J. Havlíčka svého času charakterizoval jako sofistikovanou bezradnost. Máme tomu rozumět tak, že filmy této dvojice jsou málo srozumitelné, příliš intelektuální? Nevím. Na mě jejich produkce působí spíš uklidňujícím a radostným dojmem. Jako když jsem coby kluk lehával v trávě a v mracích si „animoval“ svůj film. No jo, dětství, můžete se ušklíbnout. Ale cítili jste se někdy šťastnější než na pomezí mezi bděním a snem daleko od nudných řečí dospělých? Dítě totiž nezná pojem „sentimentální“. Some time ago, the art theoretician Petr Ingerle described their joint production as sophisticated helplessness. Are we to understand by it that the films produced by this pair are rather incomprehensible and overly intellectual? I do not know. Their production has a calming and joyful effect on me, like when I used to lay down into the grass as a young boy and “animate” my own movie in the skies. “Well, childhood,” you can frown. But have you ever felt happier than on the borderline between being awake and daydreaming, far away from the boring talk of the grownups?
